Milton Miller "Millard" Noakes, 89, of Crab Orchard, died Sunday, July 8, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
Born Jan. 21, 1923, in Crab Orchard, “Millard” was a son of the late Aaron Franklin and Rebecca Jane Harris Noakes. He was the widower of Charolet Edith "Chet" Saylor Noakes, a former employee of Checkers in Ohio and an Army veteran having served in Korea. Millard was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and Norwood Church of Christ in Ohio and attended Ephesus Baptist Church. He had a special love for his dogs especially his new one, "Pup".
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Ebble, Richard and Lee Noakes; and sisters, Alberteen Watkins, Dorothy Noakes and Birdie Wells.
Survivors include his niece and caregiver, Brenda Rentas of Crab Orchard; his great niece and caregiver, Christina Rentas Coleman of Crab Orchard; a great, great nephew and special buddy, Camerun Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.
