Clark County 4-H’er Shannon Wells recently received a plaque from Extension Agent Rose Swope after being named state champion in the senior individual horse show. She will compete on a national level in the North American Livestock Exposition in November.

The Winchester Municipal Utilities Commission doubted it would give refunds for the three days in June the utility had problems with low chlorine levels in its water, but listened quietly as a petition requesting it was read. Local businessman Robert Miller presented the petition at Thursday’s commission meeting. He claimed it contained more than 750 signatures from people unhappy with water service those three days.
