It has been a privilege over the last four years to serve as a member of the Danville Board of Education. I’m extremely proud of the direction and contagious enthusiasm I see in all five of the Danville schools. From stimulating, meaningful work at Danville High School to science, technology, engineering and math offerings at Bate, to daily world language opportunities for all of our elementary students, the progress of the Danville schools in four years is remarkable.
I have enjoyed being part of a strong, forward-thinking school board that hired and works well with Supt. Carmen Coleman to strengthen our district during a period of state budget cuts and massive changes in the state's education system. Across Kentucky, we are a clear leader in improving education experiences for all students.
Due to a move outside of Danville, I cannot run for re-election, but I am thrilled that Kate Graves has filed to run for my vacant spot.
