Craft fair returns to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL — Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill will hold its annual Craft Fair Aug. 4-5.

Now in its 17th year, the Shaker Village Craft Fair is one of the state’s premier craft events, and showcases Shaker reproductions, woodenware, metal works, floral design, needlecraft, weaving glassware, basketry, jewelry, pottery and more. The show features the elite among regional artisans, as well as up-and-coming new artists.

“You’ll find things at this craft fair that you won’t find anywhere else,” said Lorrin Ingerson, Shaker Village craft store manager. “We are honored to welcome back artists who come to this festival year after year, as well as several new vendors.”

The Shaker Village Craft Fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 5. Reduced admission is $10 for ages 13 and above, $5 for ages 6-12, and free for children five and under.

The annual Shaker Village Craft Fair is organized to raise funds for the preservation of Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, a non-profit organization and National Historic Landmark.

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, inhabited by the Shakers until 1910, is a nonprofit National Historic Landmark whose mission is to preserve 34 original buildings and 3,000 acres of countryside. In 2011, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill celebrated its first 50 years of preserving history and hospitality.
