Open house set

Hustonville Elementary School will have an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday. For more information, call the school at (606) 346-3831.

Yard sale set

The Boyle County Family Resource Center and Boyle County Youth Service Center will have a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Perryville Elementary School bus circle. 

There will be clothes, shoes, household items, books and more. 

Cocanougher reunion will be Sunday

The 38th annual reunion of the descendants of Jacob and Neley Silvertooth Cocanougher will be  10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at Perryville Community Center. 


A potluck meal will be served about 12:30 p.m. Bring photos, stories and genealogy information. For more information, call Mike Crain at (859) 368-3853. 

Relay for Life fundraiser set for Saturday

 The Relay for Life Dream Team will have a yard and bake sale beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday at Salt River Baptist Church.

Isaiah House donation

The Isaiah House, central Kentucky’s only Christ-centered accredited men’s and women’s substance abuse inpatient program, has received its largest cash donation since it opened in 2001. 

According to a news release from the program, the $200,000 donation came from a family in Louisiana.

Isaiah House operates mostly on donations from the communities it serves.

Tailgate party being planned

A planning meeting for the Boyle County High School Alumni Tailgate Party will be 4:30 p.m. Monday at the high school cafeteria. 

The tailgate party is being planned for 5:30-7 p.m. Aug. 31, prior to the Boyle versus Danville football game. Costs: $20 per alumni, includes $7 meal ticket; $3 discounted game ticket and $10 annual dues ($5 for alumni association and $5 for the B.C. Endowment Fund). 

For other guests, costs are: $10 (meal and game ticket), and children, $8 ($5 meal and $3 game ticket); preschool children are free. 

Hill of Beans will provide a BBQ pulled pork or ribeye sandwich, coleslaw and baked beans. The BCHS Career and Consumer classes will provide drinks and desserts.¿

Another planning meeting will be 4:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at BCHS cafeteria.

Special meeting set

Hustonville Elementary School will have a special  meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday in the school’s library. The agenda includes discussion for personnel, and is a closed session consultation.
