Speakers

Special services 

Second Street Christian Church — 3 p.m. Sunday, the church will celebrate Men’s and Women’s Day. The Rev. Kevin Robinson and members of Boneyville AME Church will be guests. Dinner will be served.

First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets — Aug. 5, the church will celebrate its 166th church anniversary. At 3 p.m., the  Rev. John Lee will speak and the congregation of Greater Liberty Baptist Church, Lexington, will be guests.

Free stuff

Burgin Christian Church — 8-10 a.m. Saturday, the church will have a free farmers market, “Growing in Faith.” Items to be given away include garden vegetables, baked goods and food bags. A free breakfast also will be served. 

Picnic

First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets —  1-5 p.m. Aug. 12 at Millennium Park. There will be events for all ages.
