Millennium Park electrical outage 

There will be no electricity available in Millennium Park from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to a spokeswoman with Danville-Boyle County Parks and Recreation.

Danville native named UK trustee

Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed Kelly Sullivan Holland of Lexington as the alumni representative to the University of Kentucky board of trustees. Her term will expire June 30, 2018.

Holland is a native of Danville. For 10 years, she has been employed by Merck & Co. Inc. and currently serves as a lead executive customer representative.

She is a member of the UK Alumni Association board of directors. She was the first alumna to be honored with both the Joseph Burch Young Alumni Award in 2004 and the UK Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award in 2010. 

KSP detective retires today

RICHMOND — Detective Mark Young retired today from the Kentucky State Police with 20 years of service. 

Young had been assigned as an investigator since 2005 working on major crimes in the Richmond post area. Prior to his assignment as a detective he was a patrol trooper covering Boyle, Lincoln, Garrard, Jessamine and Mercer counties.  

Young  and his wife, Holly, have two children and live in Harrodsburg.
