Readifest today

The Clark County Public schools 14th annual Readifest will be today from 6-7:30 p.m. at College Park. All children attending the event accompanied by an adult will receive school supplies. Families with children that are unable to attend Readifest can still get the free school supplies at the school their child attends. For more information contact Central/Conkwright Family Resource Director Eve Miller at 744-1369.

Rabbi at Rotary

The Winchester Rotary Club will meet Friday at noon at the Winchester Country Club. Rabbi Marc Kline from Temple Adath Israel in Lexington will be the guest speaker.

Extension Board meets Aug. 8

The Clark County Extension District Board will meet Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Clark County Extension Office.

Democratic Woman’s Club having picnic

The Democratic Woman’s Club picnic will be Monday at Beech Springs Market pavilion at 6:30 p.m. There will be a potluck meal and drinks will be provided by the club. Speakers will be JoEllen Reed and Rachel Swanson, executive assistant with Kentucky Young Democrats.

Strode Station open house

There will be an open house and teacher meet and greet at Strode Station Elementary Monday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Students and parents are invited to come meet the teachers, and visit classrooms. School supplies may be brought as well.

Local blood drive

There will be a blood drive Aug. 8 at the Clark County Public Library from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Every donor will receive a $10 Walmart gift card. Donors also will be entered into a drawing for a 2012 Toyota Rav4.

Fall cruise-in set for Aug. 11

The Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center fall cruise-in will be Aug. 11 from 3 to 9 p.m. at 1010 Bypass Road. There will be free food and giveaways. All car makes and models are invited to participate. For more information, call 737-1700.
