Obituary: Everett C. Ransdell

Everett C. Ransdell, 87, died July 21.

Born Jan. 1, 1925, in Salvisa, and raised in Kentucky, graduating from Danville High School, Everett entered the United States Navy in World War II, serving as a radioman in the Pacific theater. After the war, Everett moved to Rock Springs, Wyo., where he met a young nursing student named Mary Leonard on a blind date. She agreed to an additional date and he found the love of his life. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Carol, Ron and Mark. Everett loved his family without reservation.

Everett served for 39 years as an accountant and warehouse director at Mountain Fuel Supply Co. in Rock Springs, Wyo., and Bountiful, Utah. Following retirement in 1988, Everett and Mary relocated to Grand Junction, Colo., where they added many lifelong friends. In May of 2008, Everett and Mary relocated to Vancouver, Wash. 

Everett leaves behind a loving family of his children, their mates, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy is love for family and service to others.

He had a true faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. That same faith is an anchor for his wife and children, who believe the promise of Jesus, “I am going to prepare a place for you.”
