Boyle County pulled out a five-set victory over East Jessamine on Tuesday night at Danville, winning 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-9.
Bailey Fowler had eight aces and 25 assists to lead Boyle (2-2), which traded set wins with East Jessamine (0-3) throughout the match.
“We had a very exciting night. Both teams played very well, and there were numerous long rallies that kept everyone on the edge of your seat,” Boyle coach Cate Guthrie said. “This win was hard-fought, and the girls earned it.”
Breanna Bailey had 12 digs for the Rebels, followed by Griffin Blevins with nine and Lisa Talbott with six. Blevins had nine kills, Amy Woolum had eight kills and Talbott had six kills; Bailey had three aces and Talbott had two.
Burgin 3, Mercer County 0 — At Burgin, the Bulldogs knocked off district rival Mercer 25-11, 25-8, 25-13.
