Tates Creek 28 - West Jessamine 9

West Jessamine hosted Tates Creek in the nightcap for the VisitNich.com Bowl.

Despite some big plays by the Colts (0-1) on offense, they could only manage nine points in the 28-9 loss.

The Colts used a field goal and 75-yard flea flicker in the first half to take a 9-7 lead at halftime, but it was all Commodores (1-0) in the second half as they scored twice in the third quarter and once more late in the fourth to put the game away.

Tates jumped out to a 7-0 lead late in the first period, but West worked its way into the lead by halftime.

Following a turnover on downs, West took control at its own 25. Quarterback Ryan Horne took the snap and tossed it to Devin Taylor. Tayor rolled out to the left side and dumped a light pass off to Robbie Irgang a few yards down field. Irgang took it the distance for West's first touchdown of the season -- which put the Colts up 9-7 at the time.

Tates Creek wore down the West defense throughout the second half and went on to the 19-point win.
