The George Rogers Clark boys soccer team suffered its third setback of the year with a 2-1 loss to West Jessamine Saturday night in Nicholasville.
Clark coach Ian Collins wasn’t pleased with his team’s outing following the one-point loss.
“It was a totally disappointing effort,” the first-year Clark coach said.
The Cardinals (1-3-1) had five shots on goal, but managed just one score in the contest.
Jacob Varner connected on the lone goal for the Cardinals.
Clark goal keeper Chandler Gaunce collected three saves for the Cardinals.
West Jessamine improved its record to 6-2 on the season.
In the junior varsity game, the Cards settled for a 0-0 tie.
Clark had five shots on goal, while Dustin Summers served as goal keeper for Clark.
The Cardinals will return to the field tonight when they take on Franklin County in a match scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at the Cardinal Soccer Complex.
Clark will then take on Paris in a district match set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night in Paris.
Clark will then take a break before traveling to Central Hardin for a noon game in Elizabethtown.
Clark will play rival Montgomery County a week from today.
