Prep Golf: Boyle County girls win Madison Central Invitational

September 10, 2012

RICHMOND - Rachel Pingleton and Caroline McDonald each shot 80 to lead Boyle County to a win in the Madison Central Invitational at Gibson Bay Golf Club Sunday.

Boyle had a 346 team total — 15 shots better than second-place Dunbar. Western Hills was third at 371 and Anderson County fourth at 372.

Michaela Jarmon had a 92 for Boyle while Samantha Stewart shot 94, Alexis Draut 96 and Taylor Thompson 97. The low four scores counted in the team total.

Elsa Moberly of Pulaski County was the medalist with a 2-under par 70. Megan Kinney from Western Hills shot 73. Pingleton and McDonald tied for third.

“This was a fantastic opportunity to get more practice for our team at the regional site. This was not our best day and we still scored well enough to win,” said Boyle coach Sandy Waters. “However, we need to ensure we are on top of our game for the regional tournament. It is imperative that we practice well over these next two weeks so our team can go into the tournament with confidence.”

Kendrick medalist

At Louisville, Boyle’s Ben Kendrick was medalist at the PRP Tournament at Sun Valley Golf Course in Louisville Saturday when he shot 73.

Dakota Jarman shot 81, Dylan Frederick 118 and Will Gibson 122 for Boyle.
