The Nicholasville City Commission gave its blessing for the city fire department to team with Domino’s Pizza during fire prevention week Oct. 7-13.
Deputy chief Kevin Baker told the commission Monday that the pizza chain had approached the department about a special program to help fire prevention.
“What they are offering to do is for some lucky callers to Domino’s Pizza, if we agree to do it, that we would accompany them one evening, and if the people had working smoke detectors in the house, the (customer) would get the pizza for free,” Baker said.
If the house did not have working smoke detectors, Baker said the firefighters would offer to install detectors at no cost.
