Residents in Nicholasville and the county have two options for disposal of unwanted items. They can drop off items at the Jessamine County Road Department on Longview Drive, near City-County Park, from 7:30 a.m to 7 p.m. during the week, or they can opt for curbside pick-up.
“We are offering curbside pick-up for Nicholasville and the county, but not for Wilmore,” Cassidy said. “They must have their items on the curb before the morning of March 23 if they want it picked up.”
Wilmore residents can drop off items at Witt Lane outside Wilmore on Ky. 1268 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week. Both facilities will be closed on Sunday, March 25.
The Jessamine County Convenience Center will be open during its normal hours of operation and will charge its normal rates for anyone who needs to dump tires, commercial debris and/or other materials that will not be accepted as part of the County-Wide Clean Up. The city of Nicholasville’s Water Treatment Plant on Long Shun has extended its hours during the clean up from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.. It will be closed on Sunday.
Those with questions regarding curbside pick-up can call 859-881-4545, 859-887-8078 or 859-885-5281 for county residents. Nicholasville residents can call 859-885-1321, and Wilmore residents can call 859-858-4412.
Cassidy said the yearly event is popular among residents, and workers typically pick up between 800 and 1,000 tons of unwanted items each year.
