A candlelight vigil for Jacob Mulcahy is set to be held Sunday evening.

Posters hung at East Jessamine High School, where Mulcahy was a student, say the vigil will start at 6 p.m. at the Kentucky River boat dock off Ky. 39.

The 17-year-old Mulcahy drowned in the river in that area Wednesday. His body was recovered Thursday evening.

According to the poster, those wishing to attend can meet at Lake Mingo Park in Nicholasville at 5 p.m. and ride together, or can arrive at the vigil around 6.

A group of students is putting on the vigil, according to the school’s front-office staff.

A memorial fund also has been established for the family through Kentucky Bank, according to the Jessamine County Schools’ Facebook page. Anyone who wishes to donate can do so at any Kentucky Bank branch, either in person or by mailing in a check. Checks should be made payable to the Mulcahy Memorial Fund.
