The victim of an accident on Interstate 64 between the 94 and 96 exits is treated by medical personnel from the Winchester Fire-EMS on Monday shortly before 1 p.m. before being transported to Clark Regional Medical Center. Winchester Police Officer Alex Belcher said the driver of a Ford Escape lost control and overturned four times before striking a parked construction truck in the median. No one was seriously injured and the driver was treated and released from Clark Regional, Belcher said.

A Somerset woman was airlifted to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center after she was injured Monday in a traffic accident on U.S. 27 South. Sarah Meece, 28, was headed south in a 1999 Kia and failed to notice a vehicle that was stopped to make a turn. Her vehicle struck a 1996 Ford pickup truck driven by Shirrel Mullins, 48, of Stanford, according to state police. Meece's vehicle struck the truck in the rear, causing her to lose control and be ejected. Meece's vehicle overturned and came to rest in the parking lot of Robinson Fuel Oil Service.

A small stretch of road in Lincoln County is getting a lot of attention after an accident last week sent four young people to the hospital, three of them with serious injuries. Steven Findling, 21, Robert Tinnell, 20, and Jaylon Dawson, 20, were airlifted to Lexington after Findling's vehicle collided head-on with a car driven by Tamica Wilkerson, 22, on Spoonamore Lane. The men remain hospitalized at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Wilkerson was treated at Fort Logan Hospital and released.

STANFORD - A Boyle County paramedic was honored Friday for his role in saving the life of 8-year-old Jalen Smith. Smith was seriously injured Sept. 16 during a church hayride accident, when his leg was crushed. Boyle County EMS Maj. Aaron Stamper, who is also a board member of Stanford EMS, was honored during the Friday-afternoon dedication of Stanford EMS' new facilities for his role in responding to the scene and stabilizing Smith. Stanford Interim Capt. James Neikirk presented the award after recounting his own experience the night of the hayride accident.

A Danville woman is being treated for minor injuries after a one-vehicle accident Monday in Garrard County. About 12:45 p.m., Patricia Richardson of Danville was driving west on Ky. 52 just a few miles shy of the Boyle County line when she lost control of her vehicle and veered off the highway. Trooper Frank Thornberry of Kentucky State Police said Richardson's 2004 Chevy Impala traveled about five feet up a bank on the side of the highway, “which vaulted her into the air.” Richardson's vehicle landed upside-down in the middle of the highway.

JUNCTION CITY - A volunteer emergency worker is recovering at home from injuries he suffered in a fatal crash Saturday night that remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police. Joey Williams, 25, suffered a concussion and bruised hip in the accident, which occurred at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Ky. 300 and took the life of Victor Brumlow, 67, of Liberty. Williams was first taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

A Jessamine County school bus carrying four Warner Elementary School students slid off the road Tuesday as it was taking children home after school was dismissed early because of snow. Assistant Superintendent Owens Saylor said the bus was coming down a hill on Sugar Creek Road near Cream Ridge, when the bus began sliding. The bus ended up sideways across the road with the back wheels in a ditch and the back bumper against a tree. "None of the kids were injured in the accident.

A Nicholasville man died when his van fell on him as he was changing a tire Friday afternoon at his home on Central Avenue. The accident occurred around 11:39 a.m. John Rodney Churchill, 54, was pronounced dead later that day at the University of Kentucky Medical Center on Sept. 29. According to Nicholasville Fire Chief Charles Brumfield, when firefighters responded to the call, they found Churchill pinned under his 1981 Ford van. The jack Churchill was using apparently slipped causing the van to fall on top of him. His wife, Kathy Churchill, said she and her son were at home when the accident happened.

STANFORD - Four people from Lincoln County were injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle traffic accident on Spoonamore Lane. Three of the victims were airlifted by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. The accident occurred at 9 p.m. when Steven R. Findling, 21, of 605 E. Main St., lost control of his vehicle while traveling north on Spoonamore Lane, state police said. His vehicle collided head on with the car driven by Tamica Wilkerson, 22, of 4173 Blue Lick Road, which was traveling south.
