WINCHESTER POLICE Charged - Robert Stewart Berryman, 52, of 268 S. Highland St., was charged Sunday with failure to wear seat belt, driving under the influence, careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and third-degree possession of a controlled substance. - Matthew Dale Campbell, 30, of Richmond, was charged Saturday with third-degree criminal trespassing and alcohol intoxication (two counts). - Frederick Caudill, no age given, of 154 Cook Ave., was charged Friday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper display of registration plate and tampering with physical evidence.

The following cases were resolved in Clark District Court Aug. 22 with Judge Charles Hardin presiding. - Gertrude Winkler, theft by unlawful taking (two counts), pleaded guilty, 180 days conditionally discharged. - Christie M. Blythe, flagrant non-support (two counts), waived to grand jury. - Robin D. Caudill, speeding, dismissed; no operator's license, pleaded guilty, eight days; theft of identity, amended to giving officer false name, pleaded guilty, 90 days, 82 days conditionally discharged.

• Roger A. Neathery, 47, 126 Lake St., was arrested Aug. 27 at the same address and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and disorderly conduct. • David B. Gabbard, 33, 111 S. 5th St., was arrested Aug. 25 at the same address and charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. • Richard J. Lippens, 32, 100 Ridgeway Drive Apt. B, Lancaster, was arrested Aug. 25 at Greenbriar Street, and charged with disregarding a stop sign and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

Hager, 28, 2707 Chrisman Mill Road, was arrested July 12 at 2700 Chrisman Mill Road and charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. • Timothy Colwell, 22, 147 Lois Lane, was arrested July 17 at Kroger on South Main Street and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine). • Jere L. Hall, 35, 1021 Pinoak Drive, was arrested July 21 in the West Jessamine High School parking lot and charged with first-degree driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Local law-enforcement officials say fear should not get in the way of going to the movie theater in the wake of last week's tragic shooting in Aurora, Colo. Twelve people died and 58 were wounded in a shooting at a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises.” Police accuse James E. Holmes of carrying out the rampage. “What happened in Colorado is tragic, but it was an isolated incident and it could have happened anywhere in the country - just, unfortunately, it happened there,” Nicholasville Police Department Cpl. Benjamin Rugg said.
