The following indictments were filed in Clark Circuit Court on April 12: Anthony Slone, 25, on two felony counts of receiving stolen property on Nov. 17. An arraignment will be at 1:30 p.m. May 10. - Emily Riggins, 23, for obtaining a prescription by fraud and second-degree persistent felony offender, between Jan. 19 and Feb. 3, 2007. An arraignment is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. May 3. - Steven B. Sexton, 37, for first-degree possession of a controlled substance on March 5 and public intoxication.

STANFORD - A Lincoln County grand jury indicted seven people last week, including five men for flagrant non-support and one on charges of possession of various drugs. Billy Joe Carmicle, 40, of 3465 Ky. 1778, Hustonville, was arrested in May after state police witnessed him swerving on the highway. When stopped, Carmicle reportedly told police he was going to jail because he was drunk and open beer containers were found in the vehicle. In his pants, the police reportedly found a baggy of marijuana, rolling papers, cocaine and four hydrocodone tablets.

STANFORD - A man accused of a hate crime was one of 16 people indicted this week by a Lincoln County grand jury. Carl L. Wilson Jr., 22, 851 Lancaster Road, Apt. 29, Stanford, was charged in October with first-degree wanton endangerment and criminal mischief after Wilson allegedly followed a Hispanic man home, used racial slurs, and threw a decorative rock through the man's front window. Police report the rock nearly struck the head of a 2-year-old child inside the residence. Damage to the property was estimated at more than $500.

LIBERTY - Seven people were indicted April 16 on drug trafficking charges, according to documents filed in Casey Circuit Clerk Craig Overstreet's office. The sealed indictments were released Monday. Deirdre Lynn Fletcher, 45, of 72 Creston Water Spur, Liberty, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance; and trafficking in less than 8 ounces of marijuana, second or subsequent offense. She is accused of unlawfully trafficking in hydrocodone and marijuana in July. She is under a $5,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment 1 p.m. May 14 in Casey Circuit Court.

STANFORD - A Lincoln grand jury indicted six people Monday, including a 59-year-old man on sodomy charges. William W. "Bill" Mullins, 145 Old South Ottenheim Road, was indicted on charges of sodomy and rape, first-degree, for allegedly having deviate sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 12 from August 1997 through August 2001. Kentucky State Police Detective Bill Collins was the grand jury witness. A summons was issued for the defendant's appearance in court, and the arraignment is set for Oct. 13. Also indicted: Jason King, 24, 114 Moon St., on charges of rape, third-degree, by engaging in sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old. Kentucky State Police Detective Mark Young was the grand jury witness.

STANFORD - A Lincoln County grand jury indicted 18 people Friday, including two Lincoln County Regional Jail inmates and a Harrodsburg man on arson charges. Inmates Aaron Woosley, 19, Lancaster, and Derek L. Whitlock, 24, Lexington, were charged with starting a fire in the maximum security area of the jail Dec. 30. No one was injured or evacuated during the fire, which was extinguished by jail staff within minutes. Bail for both men is $20,000 cash or property. Trooper Brandon Curlis was the witness.
