WINCHESTER POLICE Crimes - Robert Green of 11 Hughes Ave., apt. 15, reported at 12:35 p.m. Friday that a known female has been continuously calling him on his cell phone. - At 2:55 p.m. Friday, Alice Miller of 125 Buckner St., reported that someone cracked her windshield while her vehicle was parked overnight. Accidents - Around noon Thursday on Main street, a car driven by Candice Beam of 109 Tyler Banks Court struck the rear of a car driven by Kevin Davis of 2190 Old Log Lick Road as Davis stopped at a railroad crossing.

Most schools and government offices in Clark County will be closed Monday for Presidents' Day, but a school that normally would close will remain open to make up a snow day. Clark County Schools, St. Agatha Academy and Clark County Christian School will be closed. Winchester Christian will be the one making up the snow day. Calvary's Kids Christian School will be closed Friday for an in-service day with day care provided and closed for the holiday Monday with no day care. City offices will be closed, but county and state offices will be open along with the Clark County Extension Office, Clark County Health Department, Clark County Home Health, Clark County Community Services, the Clark County Public Library and Winchester Municipal Utilities.

The Clark County Clerk's Office will be closed Monday and Tuesday in observance of the New Year's holiday. The County Judge-Executive's Office, along with all other county offices, will be closed Friday and Monday, as will the Clark Circuit Clerk's Office. Clark County Community Services will be closed today but will open Saturday and then will be closed until Tuesday. The Clark County Public Library will be closed Sunday and Monday. Other closings include the United States Post Office and the Winchester Municipal Utilities on Monday, with regular garbage pickup resuming on Tuesday.

All municipal offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. City, county and state offices will observe the two-day holiday along with Winchester Municipal Utilities, the Clark County Aging Services at the Generations Center and the Clark County Extension Service. The Clark County Health Department and the Clark County Home Health Office will be closed. However, a nurse will be on call in the event of an emergency. Clark County Community Services will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Clark County Public Library will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, and all schools will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Only two local financial institutions will be open Monday while eight others will be closed in observance of Columbus Day.Open will be Central Bank and Winchester Federal. Closed will be Alliance Bank, BB&T, Citizens Guaranty, Community Trust, Kentucky, National City, Peoples Exchange and Traditional Banks. Also closed will be the United States Post Office.
