Mona Brandenburg Beagle, 69, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011, at Richmond Health and Rehabilitation, Madison. She was the widow of Ralph Beagle. Mona was born on Dec. 28, 1941, in Estill County and was the daughter of Dorcie Leslie and Ida Lewis Tribble Brandenburg, both of whom preceded her in death. She retired from Square D as an administrative assistant after 39 years of service. Mona attended Christview Christian Church in Winchester. Survivors include one brother, David L. Brandenburg and his wife, Betty, of Richmond; one sister, Martha Baxter and her husband, George, of Richmond; four nephews, Jim D. Crutcher and his wife Stella, Dan C. Crutcher and his wife Daphne, Todd Brandenburg, Alan Brandenburg and his fiancee Kindra Hinz; two great-nephews, Caleb and Kyle Crutcher; and two great-nieces, Crissi and Calah Crutcher.

Parcheesi is a Beagle/Pug mix who loves to play, play, play. Parcheesi’s previous owners kept him tied up a lot, so he has a lot of playing to catch up on. Alli is a female Domestic Short Hair Tabby mix. She gets along great with everyone but is ready for a home of her own. Students in the Conkwright Middle School Student Y organized a fundraiser, “Show your Green for the Animal Shelter,” to raise money to help the Clark County Animal Shelter. An affectionate medium-haired cat named Timmy and a cute beagle mix pup named Baxter are among the animals available for adoption from the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society this week. In addition to two 3-month-old kittens, several adults cats are available, including white, orange, black and calico. Other pups include black Lab mix and boxer-cattle dog mix. Adult dogs include beagle mix, American cattle dog (blue heeler), pointer, Pomeranian mix, and Great Pyrenees. The adoption fee of $75 includes spay-neuter surgery, first vaccinations (including rabies)
