Did you know that nearly every one of us will need a blood transfusion sometime in our lifetime? It's true. Thousands of hospital patients across central and eastern Kentucky need blood each day. It could be to survive a car accident or some other traumatic injury. Maybe the blood is needed for cancer or burn treatments or for a delicate heart or liver transplant. Crab Orchard community asks you to please roll up your sleeve and do your part to keep our community's blood supply at a safe level.

STANFORD - Everyone wore pink Tuesday afternoon at the Lincoln County Middle School blood drive held by the Beta Club in honor of one teacher fighting breast cancer. Educators Debra Watt and Daveida Smith came up with the idea during a lunch conversation to have the blood drive to show support for Daughtery while she is still recovering.
