Who are congressmen to talk about honesty? To the editor: On Thursday morning, Aug. 19, the main television news was about a baseball pitcher named Roger Clemens, who lied to Congress about taking steroids. For this he was going to get jail time. I couldn’t help thinking what about members of Congress, who lied to the American public when they swore on the Bible that they would uphold the law, and then before the American people they upheld their special-interest friends by letting them hire illegal aliens and did nothing about it. Esquire Magazine columnist Nick Sullivan opined in March of this year, "Men can still pull off pink, so long as the particular shade is restrained and the number of pink items in an outfit is strictly limited to one. " I suppose, then, that Nick would approve of the Nicholasville Fire Department's October attire. After all, pink pants would have been just a little over the top! I've been both entertained and impressed as the "real men" among us get on the bandwagon to support breast cancer awareness.
