A Lexington man suspected in a string of burglaries that spanned three counties is behind bars in Bourbon County following a two-hour police chase Thursday night. Weston Flannery, 37, was spotted on a street in Paris at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday, said Paris Police Chief Tim Gray. According to Gray, Paris Police pursued Flannery as he drove into Georgetown, where he crashed his vehicle and fled on foot. He then stole a truck and headed back to Paris, eluding law enforcement officers.

The Jessamine County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help regarding a burglary that occurred Tuesday, Sept. 25. Around 6 p.m. that evening, deputies were dispatched to Springcrest Drive near the Fayette County line off U.S. 68 on a burglary call. According to a JSO news release, when a mother and her daughter arrived home, they realized the door that led from the inside of their home to the garage was pried open. The pair exited the garage and called 911. While on the phone, a white male fled from the garage area of the home.

A Danville man was arrested Thursday evening after he allegedly burglarized a woman's apartment. About 5 p.m., Danville police responded to 307 W. Main St. where the victim told police a man entered her kitchen through a rooftop window. She said she heard the man attempting to enter through the window, and she confronted him when he gained entry. Police said the suspect fled on foot without taking anything from the apartment. He was seen running eastbound on Main Street toward Chase Bank, police said.

NICHOLASVILLE — Jessamine County deputy sheriffs, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police, have arrested a Lincoln County man in connection with a burglary on Scott Lane in southern Jessamine County. Teddy Eugene Kidwell, 35, of Goshen Road, Stanford, was taken into custody Friday and charged with first-degree complicity to burglary. According to Chief Deputy Allen Peel, Kidwell allegedly assisted 41-year-old Joseph Wilson in the burglary. “He was a lookout to watch for anybody,” Peel said.

Nicholasville police are investigating a burglary that occurred at 112 Orchard Court sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday. Numerous firearms were taken from the residence, including two 12-gauge shotguns and 10 semi-atomatic handguns, according to a news release from the police department. The handguns range from .22 caliber all the way up to .45 calibers. Several rounds of ammunition and “other items” were also taken from the residence, the release said. Police believe the unknown suspect entered through a window.

City police say a burglar who broke into a Danville museum Wednesday night made off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Police were alerted to a possible break in at JFC Museum at 1369 Stanford Ave. early Thursday after an Advocate-Messenger employee on the way to work noticed that a front window of the building had been broken out and a side door damaged. Assistant Chief Tony Gray said officers found that the bottom of the side door had been broken or peeled back.

A Jessamine County grand jury indicted a Nicholasville woman on second-degree burglary charges Monday. According to Nicholasville police, Lori M. Embry, 1325 Watts Mill Road, allegedly burglarized a home at 204 Ironwood Drive and stole more than $100,000 in jewelry on Aug. 20. “The owner advised that she had lost just over $100,000 in jewelry,” Maj. John Branscum said. The victim told police she had been gone from her residence for about seven hours. Branscum said Embry was staying next door to the victim.

Wilmore police are investigating a burglary that occurred around 9 p.m. Oct. 8 at Dr. Phyllis Corbitt's office at 317 E. Main St. The burglars broke through a side window and attempted to steal a safe inside the office, Deputy Chief Bill Craig said.  Police found the safe in the alley near the building, and Corbitt told police the safe was empty to begin with. Nothing else was taken from the office, Craig said. Craig said officers believe three people may have been involved in the burglary.

A Nicholasville man is behind bars following a home invasion in which a gun was fired, according to Jessamine County Chief Deputy Allen Peel. Thomas Ray Johnson, 33, of 116 Whaley Court was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and charged with attempted murder and first-degree burglary. The attempted murder is a Class D felony, which carries a 1-5 year prison sentence, if convicted. The burglary charge is a Class B felony, which carries a 5-10 year prison sentence, if convicted.

HARRODSBURG - Mercer County deputy sheriffs stopped a residential burglary in progress Wednesday afternoon. About 1 p.m., authorities including Chief Deputy Scott Elder responded to a home on Elmwood Drive in Cottonwood subdivision and arrested James R. Elam, 61, of Richmond, at the scene. Elam allegedly was wearing gloves and had possession of prying tools that he used to force entry into the residence as well as an outside shed-type building. Because the would-be burglar was caught at the scene, the homeowner did not lose any property, Elder said.

A homeowner's security alarm helped thwart a burglary Saturday morning at a home on Glass Mill Road in southwestern Jessamine County. James Hitch, 26, of Wilmore, was arrested after being discovered hiding in the attic. Jessamine County chief deputy Allen Peel said that minutes after receiveing the alarm call, deputy Harold Barlow was on scene, followed by Sgt. Andy Neyman, deputies Anthony Purcell, Jason Beale, and Carlton Gay and Wilmore police Sgt. Nelson Shrout. Jessamine County jailer Jon Sallee also assisted, Peel said.

STANFORD - Another one of the four women who were charged with the attempted murder of a Hustonville woman last July has pleaded guilty to reduced charges. Autumn Drass of Columbus, Ohio, pleaded guilty May 10 to second-degree burglary and third-degree assault for her role in breaking into the home of Minnie L. Goode on July 3. Drass was originally indicted for attempted murder, first-degree burglary and third-degree assault. She is the third woman to plead guilty in the case.

Police are investigating a burglary reported Wednesday evening in Danville. At 6 p.m. Danville police responded to the residence of James T. Baker at 704 Hillcrest Drive for reports of a burglary that happened during the 24 hours prior. According to a press release, the suspects kicked in a back door and forced entry into a gun safe. The suspects allegedly stole seven firearms and fled the scene, the release stated. Reported missing was a .45 Caliber Smith and Wesson Pistol, a .45 Caliber Sig-Sauer Pistol, a .22 Caliber Stevens Rifle, a .22 Caliber Ruger Rifle, two Remington 12 gauge shotguns and one Remington 20 gauge shotgun.

Attorney General Jack Conway and his Office of Special Prosecutions announced the sentencing in Jessamine Circuit Court of two Nicholasville residents in connection with a string of home invasions between July and September 2012. Twenty-eight-year-old Erick Reynolds received a 10-year sentence after pleading guilty Feb. 8 to nine counts of second-degree burglary and one count of theft by unlawful taking. Reynolds also pleaded guilty to being a persistent felony offender and admitted he broke into eight different homes, one of them twice, as well as a vehicle.

A Winchester man is facing a burglary charge and a $100,000 cash bond after he allegedly pulled a knife on his neighbor Friday when she wouldn't give him $5. Richen Price Werkmeister, 44, of 216 S. Main St. Apt. 4, was arrested following the incident, police said. According to court documents, Werkmeister knocked on the apartment door of one of his neighbors Friday around 4:20 p.m. The woman told Winchester Police officers that Werkmeister asked for $5. When she said she didn't have the money, she said Werkmeister pushed her three times and entered her apartment.

A Wilmore city truck was stolen and set on fire early Monday morning, the latest in a string of thefts and break-ins that occurred in the city overnight Sunday night, according to Wilmore police chief Bill Craig. The truck was taken from the parking lot of the city's water-treatment plant, which is surrounded by a 12-foot barbed-wired fence, said Wilmore police detective Melanie Welch, who is investigating the incidents. The lock on the gate was forced open. At the time it was stolen, the truck was unlocked and had the keys in the ignition, Craig said.
