A Nicholasville man is behind bars following a home invasion in which a gun was fired, according to Jessamine County Chief Deputy Allen Peel. Thomas Ray Johnson, 33, of 116 Whaley Court was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and charged with attempted murder and first-degree burglary. The attempted murder is a Class D felony, which carries a 1-5 year prison sentence, if convicted. The burglary charge is a Class B felony, which carries a 5-10 year prison sentence, if convicted.

All it took was following the footprints through the snow to find a robbery suspect, a Winchester Police officer told the judge Wednesday. Brian Davenport was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary after allegedly stealing five cartons of cigarettes from Fast Lane Tobacco on West Lexington Avenue. During Davenport’s preliminary hearing Wednesday in Clark District Court, Winchester Police Officer Caleb Goodrich said he responded to an alarm sounding at the business at 3:45 a.m. Dec. 16. When he arrived, he found that the drive-through window had been broken and a fresh set of footprints in the snow.

The Wilmore Police Department is attempting to locate a man they believe was involved in a burglary at Clay's Barbershop, located at 321 E. Main St., in October. The barber shop was broken into Oct. 12 sometime between 5:15 a.m. and 7 a.m., Deputy Chief Bill Craig said. Police found that 15 autographed University of Kentucky basketballs were taken from the shop after the burglar gained access to the building by breaking through the rear door. Nothing else was taken from the shop, and all of the basketballs except one were located at local pawn shops and a residence in Nicholasville when police conducted the investigation, Craig said.

A Boyle County man didn’t get far with a television set he took from a home Tuesday morning, the second time police believe he burglarized the residence in two days. Sheriff Marty Elliott said Cody Pollard, 22, of Danville was arrested by state police a short time after allegedly entering a home on Chrisman Spur and taking a flat-screen television. Elliott said the television was found in a fence row on Chrisman Spur adjacent to the house and Pollard was found walking on Chrisman Lane.

HARRODSBURG - A Danville man already in custody for allegedly breaking into a Mercer County house and tangling with the homeowner faces additional charges related to three other burglaries. Jason Edward Myers, 35, of 28 Burckley Drive, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing today in Mercer District Court on a count of first-degree burglary for allegedly breaking into Bruno Albiero's home on Ashley Camp Road near Burgin on July 23. While investigating that case, Mercer Deputy Sheriff Wes Gaddis executed a search warrant on Myers' home and recovered items taken from burglaries in Salvisa, Burgin and Danville dating back to October.  On Tuesday, Gaddis charged Myers with receiving stolen property more than $500 for having items taken in those three break-ins, along with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for rifles found in Myers' home, Gaddis said.

Four people accused of burglarizing a Domino's Pizza last month have been arrested, Danville police said. Dexter O. Brand, 22, of 817 E. Main St. in Danville; Deodric R. Nealy, 19, of Beech Street in Danville; Gregory D. Stallworth, 20, of 530 Denmark Dr. in Danville; and Tara M. Aranda, 23, of 301 N. Hill-N-Dale St. in Danville, are all being held in Boyle County Detention Center. Brand, Nealy and Stallworth are all charged with felony third-degree burglary and felony tampering with physical evidence, while Aranda is only charged with third-degree burglary.

Thieves caused more than $8,000 in damages and $2,700 in stolen property at a Nicholasville business, and police are seeking the public's help in catching them. According to a Nicholasville Police Department news release, between 3-6 a.m. on Nov. 15, three men entered the Stokley's Marine lot and removed 25-30 marine batteries from boats that were for sale. “(The boats) were in a fenced-in area, and (the men) cut through the fence,” Nicholasville police Sgt. Scott Harvey said.

Danville police are investigating a gun theft that was reported Monday. Elmer Asher Jr. of 412 Grant St. told police he had five pistols stolen from his unlocked vehicle parked outside his residence. The theft occurred during the night between Sunday and Monday. Police Chief Tony Gray said the guns are a .380 pistol, a 9mm pistol and possibly three .22 caliber pistols. They were valued at about $1,000. Two knives and a bottle of liquor also were taken. Anyone with information may contact police at (859)

Danville police have arrested three men in connection with a Saturday burglary and hope to arrest a fourth suspect soon. Clifton Yates-Bryant, 18, of Bardstown, Brandon L. Warren, 25, of Junction City and a juvenile male were all arrested for allegedly burglarizing an Ashford Drive apartment, police said.  The trio joined by a fourth suspect purportedly broke into the occupied apartment about 4:30 p.m. Saturday and stole a wallet with cash...

Eight seniors at West Jessamine High School face charges after a senior prank that allegedly included entering the school early in the morning May 15. The Nicholasville Police Department announced the charges Tuesday morning, naming seven of the seniors who are at least 18 years old and withholding the name of one juvenile. Jonah Gentry, Jeff Ziemann and Kendall Jones were charged with third-degree burglary; Harold Brabon, Austin Martin, Joseph Durbin and Sean Donaldson were charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.
