Winchester Kiwanis Club The Winchester Kiwanis Club will meet at noon Wednesday at Taste of China. Harry E. Mason, an adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky's Patterson School of Diplomacy, will speak. His 35-year federal goverment career included domestic and overseas positions with the Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Department of State. His areas of specialization include Foreign Intelligence and Homeland Security. Michael Rowady will be program chairman.

STANFORD - At a reception where copius amounts of sugar cookies and punch were bandied about, the Lincoln County Board of Education acknowledged the work of several "dedicated" volunteers and retiring employees. The volunteers' work saved the school district an estimated $166,896 for last year alone, and a large check in that amount was ceremoniously presented to the board as a symbol of that effort. Melissa Lynn, a volunteer at McKinney, was recognized as the district's Outstanding 2007-2008 volunteer for her ability to keep the students' needs at the forefront of all she does.

Lincoln BOE to hold interviews for superintendent applicants STANFORD - Lincoln County Board of Education will hold a special meeting 5 p.m. today at the central office. The meeting will consist of an executive session to interview applicants for the superintendent position. Meeting Perryville Elementary School Council - 3 p.m. today in the library.

REDISTRICTING MEETING The Clark County Board of Education will have a redistricting meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at their central office. CORRECTION In Wednesday's paper, an article stated the next meeting of The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 1828, would be Tuesday, March 25 at 6 p.m. at Taste of China. The meeting time has been moved to noon.
