WINCHESTER POLICE Charged - Manuel Bruton, 44, was charged Thursday with driving under the influence and failure to use proper signal. Reports - At 2:03 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to 5 W. Broadway concerning an elderly man who injured himself Saturday trying to get away from a large dog. - At 2:40 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to 348 Oxford Drive after someone broke a window on the caller's vehicle. CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF Charged - Ralph McConnell, 55, of Campton, was charged with driving under the influence.

- At 2:43 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters were called to 1097 Crowe Ridge Road for a possible structure fire. - At 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters were called to the YMCA for a smell of smoke. - At 11:33 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Winn Avenue. - At 2:36 a.m. today, firefighters were called to 11279 Iron Works Road for a chimney fire that spread into the walls. A Boyle County fire truck crashed Thursday on Ky. 52, sending four firefighters to the hospital and closing the road for several hours. The firefighters — driver Lt. Jim Harris, Lt. Nate Wesley, Lt. Firefighters with the Jessamine County Fire District responded to 83 Lantern Way in the northwest part of the county Wednesday afternoon and extinguished a chimney fire. People were in the house, but no one was injured and there was no damage to the structure, according to Lt. Rick Shropshire. Firefighters arrived around 1:30 p.m. and dropped chemical bombs in the chimney to help extinguish the flames, which had previously been reaching above the chimney, according to Shropshire.

The Jessamine County Fire District responded to a fire in the attic of a house at 2083 Sugar Creek Pike on Christmas Day. The fire spread from the chimney into the attic area around 4 p.m. Saturday, Jessamine County Fire Chief Mike Rupard said. Children who were playing upstairs smelled smoke, and the family evacuated the house. No one was hurt. “It was all up in the attic, up in the chimney chase, caught the wood on fire,” Rupard said. “Actually, when we got there, it had fire coming out of the roof area of the house.
