STANFORD - You could see the writing on the wall at Grace Fellowship Church on Saturday. In fact, you could see the writing all over the place, on nearly every wall. Members of the church held a wall-raising ceremony Saturday morning, where they spent about an hour writing on the new wall studs of their church with multi-colored Sharpies. The walls had just been raised with the help of the mission organization Carpenters for Christ. Grace Fellowship's pastor Vola Brown said church members heard of Carpenters for Christ through connections with Baptist Builders of Kentucky.

I usually listen to the Christian radio station on the radio dial WDFB in Alum Springs. It has and continues to give an eternal perspective to those who love the Lord, every day, every week and every month, until he comes again, just like he promised. Children of God have a bond of love for each other as we continue to look to the Eastern sky for our blessed hope. Jesus Christ has arisen into the portals of heaven and he's coming again, just like he promised. M. Wendell Anderson Danville

John 4:27-42: At this point, Jesus' disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?” The disciples marveled, Jesus not only brought them through Samaria, sent them out for lunch, but now speaks with a woman. Rabbis were known to say, “It is better for the law to be burned than to deliver them to a woman!” Jesus did not agree with that prejudiced thinking. He broke through all the boundaries to speak with this lost Samaritan woman.

The story of the birth of Jesus, as more often related from Luke's gospel, provides the well known details of an eventful time. Western civilization shares the common knowledge of this momentous happening, but the Asian world, while certainly aware of the history, is far less involved or intrigued with the birth of Jesus. The “Stable Story” has been pictured in many differing ways through the years and the manger scene has been deployed countless times on church yards, town squares, schools and private property.

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were   possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.” Acts 8: 5-8 (KJV) Ryan Dotson has read the book of Acts. Until recently, he had never fully experienced what was recorded in the one of the books of the Bible during a recent crusade.

Some among us don't believe Jesus ever existed. That story, in their view, is nothing but a myth. Some do believe that He existed, but are confounded with the mystery that oftentimes seems to shroud His presence among us.  Those who deny Him do so, at least in large measure, as the result of having no original texts, penned by a known author, who is certified as having lived in places of factual existence during specific years of birth and...

For the third year in a row, Ichthus festival attendees could take a break from the music acts and take their boards and worship to a skate park located at the heart of the Wilmore campgrounds. Friday afternoon as the sounds of nearby music acts drifted across the campgrounds, about a dozen young men in their teens and 20s grinded, kickflipped and ollied across the pavement and ramps, showing off their skills. The park, which was overseen by action sports mission Ride Nature, saw hundreds of skaters over the four-day festival.

LANCASTER - As the humidity changed into rain, and the rain changed into abundant sunshine, the volunteers of Carpenters for Christ continued working as much as possible to frame up the new Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.  Under a nearby tent, other volunteers, some from the church itself, watched the construction as they provided food, water and support. Tonia Campbell, of Lancaster, was one of them and said she recognizes the need for a new church, as the current one is regularly packed.
