Leisa and Guy M. Jones of Mount Sterling announce the engagement of their daughter, Jaclyn Arie Taylor, to Allen Tracy Farmer of Clay City, son of Brenda and Tracy Farmer of Clay City. The wedding will take place Aug. 8 at Epperson First Church of God. A reception for family and friends will follow the ceremony. The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School and a 2006 graduate of Kentucky Community and Technical College Systems with an associate's degree in arts.

MARICA 'SISSY' JUANITA KNOWLES MULLINS Marica “Sissy” Juanita Knowles Mullins, 53, wife of Raymond Mullins and daughter of Wanda Knowles, died July 10. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at West Bend Baptist Church in Clay City, Ky. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until the time of services. O.L. Hughes & Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements directed by Rev. John C. Hawkins Taylor.

Millerd “Doc” Brinegar, 68, of Clay City, husband of Trudy Wells Brinegar, passed away Sunday from a very short illness.   He was born in Estill County on Oct. 21, 1942 to the late Andrew and Velda Plowman Brinegar.   He is survived by three sons, Vance (Jean) Brinegar of Winchester, Greg (Dana) Brinegar of Winchester and Ronald (Kitty) Brinegar of Winchester; two daughters, Tammy Ballard of Clay City and Bertha (Danny) Brewer of Winchester; five brothers; three sisters; a stepson, Clarence White of Winchester; mother-in-law, Geraldine Wells of Clay City; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ronald Clyde Puckett, age 73, husband of Nancy Berryman Puckett of Third Avenue, Clay City, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 at his residence.  Born in Covington, he was the son of Loretta Combs Puckett of Clay City and the late Holly Puckett. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a welder with Local Union 452 in Lexington. He attended Faith Covenant Church in Lexington. Surviving relatives are his wife, Nancy Berryman Puckett; his mother, Loretta Combs Puckett; his son, Billy Berryman of Irvine, Ky.; his brother, Joel (Roxanne)
