Toys for Tots poker run set PERRYVILLE - American Legion Post 301 will sponsor a Toys for Tots poker run Saturday. Anyone who wants to make a tax-deductible donation should make the check payable to the American Legion. People will be at the Legion Hall on West Second Street (U.S. 150) from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accept donations. At 5 p.m., a meal consisting of hamburger, cole slaw, potato salad and drink will be served. The cost is $5 per person, and the event is open to the public.

The Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital will hold its annual luncheon Friday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Stanford Baptist Church Christian Life Center, 204 Church Street, Stanford. The luncheon meal will cost $5, which includes choice of country ham or chicken salad sandwich, cole slaw, chips, dessert and a drink. Door prizes will be given away, and tickets are being sold on chances to win $100 gift certificates to Food Lion and Durham's Grocery. Those tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Carryout and delivery orders are available the day of the luncheon.

Food, a variety of entertainment and an auction will highlight a special fundraiser for the Bluegrass Heritage Museum scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.All proceeds will go toward renovation of a second-floor room at the museum into a permanent military history room and to help with installation of an elevator to make the museum's second and third floors handicapped accessible. The military history room will cover all wars in which Clark Countians have served, from the American Revolutionary War to Iraq and Afghanistan, according to Sandy Stults, the museum's director.
