Boonesboro Lions Club fish fry The Boonesboro Lions Club will host a fish fry today at their clubhouse on Ford Hampton Road. The event will be from 1 to 6 p.m. and features hush puppies, french fries, cole slaw, tartar sauce and a drink for $8 in advance or $9 at the door. Children 3-12 are only $3. Carry out orders are available. For more information, call 745-2113. Christmas craft sale New Life Assembly of God Church, 2159 Iron Works Road, will hold a Christmas craft sale Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds will go to the Missions and Women's Ministry. Women's Bible Study at First Baptist Church Joe Ann Dove will facilitate renowned author Phillip Yancey's book "Prayer: Does it Change Anything?" each Monday now through Nov. 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sessions will be at First Baptist Church, 32 E. Lexington Ave. All ladies of the community are invited to attend.

The annual free cookout, sponsored by local businesses and individuals, features pork tenderloin barbecue, cole slaw, baked beans, cooked apples, soft drinks and a wet bar. Oh, and politics. These ladies were supporting Judge Jeff Walson of Winchester for circuit court. Walson attended the event, as did his opponent, Judge Bill Clouse of Richmond.
