Community Education, a program of the Clark County Schools, is offering two winter sessions of state registered nurse aide training: Session I : Tuesday/Thursday evening classes, Jan. 3 - Feb. 21, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Session II : Saturdays, Feb. 23 - April 20, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each session is 75 hours and will consist of classroom instruction and clinical time. Mic Shields of Ads-Hancor helps Clark Middle School student Gateland Myers with a class assignment during a sixth grade math class at Clark Middle School. Shields is one of five mentors from Ads-Hancor who are helping students at Clark Middle. The volunteers are paid for one hour of mentoring work by their employer. The program is coordinated through the Partners in Education Program and Community Education.

Local students will have an opportunity to learn about job and education possibilities next month during the College and Career Fair at George Rogers Clark High School. And organizers are hoping that additional businesses will sign up by Tuesday. The event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on April 1, is being sponsored by the Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce, the Clark County Community Education Program and the GRC Youth Services Center. It is expected to feature dozens of businesses and at least nine area colleges.

BUSH/SHEARER COUNCIL TO MEET The Advisory Council for the Bush/Shearer Family Resource Center will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at Shearer Elementary, 244 E. Broadway. COMMUNITY EDUCATION OFFERS SUMMER CLASS Community Education will offer a summer class in Middle Eastern Dance.
