There was a large congregation on Sunday morning at the Green River Pentecostal Church. The drama team presented a skit Sunday. They did an outstanding job. Sis. Melissa Folger is the director of the drama team. Two people received the Lord as their Savior Sunday morning. The veterans were recognized and honored for their service to our country both past and those currently serving. The congregation enjoyed a meal at the fellowship hall following Sunday morning service.

The installation service for Elder Joseph Shea Brown, the pastor of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Boone's Creek, will be held Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. Elder Robert Coulter, Jr. and congregation of the Boneyville Baptist Church will be the guests. The annual Thanksgiving service will be held at the Boneyville Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. Rev. Fred Harris and congregation of the Bethel AME Church, Boneyville, will be the guest. Dinner will be served. The Pastor's Conference of the South District will convene at the Boneyville Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. Elder Robert Coulter, Jr. is the pastor.

This past Sunday when my Sunday school students and I went into the basement for our class, we found markings on the floor. Further investigation led us to a small framed area. Being the astute detectives that we are, we surmised ? we're getting Sunday school rooms! Those tarpaulins that we have tied to the rafters to divide our classes will soon be replaced by real walls. Bro. Pete later explained in the morning service that he had marked off all the things we had requested ? a nursery, bathroom, a pastor's study, storage rooms, and classrooms.

The Junction City Christian Church was built on Junction City's Main Street 75 years ago. The church is celebrating its 75th year Oct. 21 with a homecoming and dinner. Dinner will be after the 11 a.m. service. At 2 p.m., an anniversary service will be held. The church's current building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was dedicated Oct. 30, 1932, with George W. Mills as pastor. A total of 1,208 names appear on the church roll. The church was organized around a nucleus from the Old Givens Christian Church, which had been located on Airport Road.

As the new full-time pastor at Brookside Baptist Church in Nicholasville, DeWayne Brewer is committed to providing opportunities for his congregation to reach out to the surrounding area. Brewer said he encourages those who attend the church to be intentional about connecting with people and finding ways "to do the good works God calls us to do. " And with over 30 years of military service in addition to his volunteer work with the Hospice of the Bluegrass and other community service organizations, Brewer's life testifies to the emphasis he places on putting Christian principles into practice.

Konstantopoulos retires On Sept. 2, Dr. Bill and Mrs. Kay Konstantopoulos notified the congregation of First Church of God on Colby Road of their intent to retire from the full-time pastorate and participate in global missions, speaking engagements and writing. The Konstantopouloses have been with the church for a little more than 12 years, and they have overseen the major building and relocation of the church. Their previous ministry included pastoring in Virginia and Tennessee and serving as missionaries in Central and South America.
