The proposal, which state lawmakers have been trying to pass in various forms for years, was approved by the House Committee on Elections, Constitutional Amendments and Intergovernmental Affairs. The bill will now proceed to the full House for consideration. The measure would amend Kentucky's constitution, which established the constable position in 1850.
