Danville High School

Calvin and Jennie Playforth of Stanford announce the engagement of their daughter, Lorie Ann Baugh, to David Shane Bastin, son of David and Judy Bastin of Danville. The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Lincoln County High School and an employee of The Advocate-Messenger. The groom-elect is a 1997 graduate of Danville High School and an estimator at Bastin Painting, Inc. A wedding is planned for May 11 at First Christian Church in Danville.

Preston-Huffman Janeen Vaught and Mickey Preston, both of Danville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa Marie Preston, to Kyle Daniel Huffman, son of Bruce and Sharen Huffman of Danville. Preston is a 2003 graduate of Danville High School and a student at Eastern Kentucky University. Huffman is a 2005 graduate of Danville High School and a student at EKU. A wedding is planned for May 12 at Boyle County Fairgrounds.

Centre College: Lily Brooks, daughter of Paul and Theresa Brooks of Harrodsburg and a graduate of Mercer County High School. Bryan Lindsey, son of Kathleen Lindsey of Harrodsburg and a graduate of Mercer County High School. Mason Meredith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Meredith of Harrodsburg and a graduate of Mercer County High School. Carley Smith, daughter of Tim Smith of Harrodsburg and Pam Smith of Midway and a graduate of Washington County High School. Laura Webb, daughter of Jay and Teresa Webb of Berea and a graduate of Waterstone Homeschool Academy.

Ashley Gorley, a 1995 graduate of Danville High School, is nominated for a Country Music Association Award at Wednesday's awards ceremony. Gorley is nominated for the "Song of the Year" award, for his writing of the Trace Adkins hit, "You're Going to Miss This. "

Bate football: All players in grades six through eight who plan to play football for Bate Middle School should report to the Danville High School football facility at 5:15 p.m. today.
