Our featured pets this week are Mary and Uriah. Mary is a sweet, solid white kitty with medium-length hair. She has an easy-going personality and really loves to be around people. When you meet Mary in person, the first thing you will notice are her beautiful blue eyes. Mary has been spayed and is ready to come to your home to receive the love and attention that she deserves.  Uriah is one of our Mutts With Manners dogs. He's about 1 year old and weighs 25 pounds. Uriah is cute and fluffy, his breeding is unknown but our best guess would be that he's a Corgi/beagle mix. Uriah is a playful and happy boy. While in the Mutts With Manners/Northpoint Trained Canines Program, Uriah is learning basic obedience and socialization skills and is crate-trained.

LOUISVILLE - Meagan Smith knew Saturday could be a really good day, but she was still a little surprised at just how good it was. Smith came to the state track and field meet favored to win both of her races, and she came through twice Saturday to capture her first two state titles in the sport. The Danville distance runner prevailed in a close race in the Class A girls 1,600-meter run and one that wasn't so close in the 3,200, making her the only local athlete to win more than one first-place medal in this weekend's meet at Owsley Frazier Cardinal Park.
