I am an EKU alumnus. I received my BA from Dr. Whitlock in 2010. I wanted to get credits I earned from the Navy put on my EKU transcripts to make them official. I was told that EKU couldn't go back and retroactively put them on my transcripts when I had already graduated.  Getting a degree from EKU has been like pulling teeth, a whole mouthful of teeth, from a belligerent giant. But I got what I wanted, a degree and official transcripts with 24 Navy credits.    EKU staff would look at me in a questioning manner, as if though they doubted I could actually be a student.

Hi everyone! As someone who was born and raised in Stanford, I'm very excited to be the summer intern for the Interior Journal. After graduating from Lincoln County High School in 2009, I went on to Eastern Kentucky University, where I'm now a senior majoring in English. I will be graduating this December. After I graduate, I hope to write for a magazine or newspaper until I get my own book published. The novel I'm working on now is a fictional story directed at young adults.

RICHMOND - Danny Hope followed a legend at Eastern Kentucky. According to several published reports, he may be following another longtime coach in the near future. Hope, who just completed his fifth season as successor to legendary Eastern coach Roy Kidd, reportedly will take over for Purdue coach Joe Tiller in two years. Eastern athletics director Mark Sandy told the Lexington Herald-Leader this morning that he couldn't confirm or deny the rumors. "If there's something that's happening with Purdue, then it has to come from them," he told the paper.

STANFORD - Two Lincoln County Middle School students were taken to the hospital Wednesday after consuming energy drinks during a field trip to Eastern Kentucky University. Principal Debbie Sims said during a 300-student excursion to the university in Richmond for a live dance performance, some students began purchasing energy drinks from a store in the main EKU food court. Sims said one student asked a teacher if he could purchase an energy drink and was given permission. After that, students began making a "big deal" about energy drinks and purchasing them in larger numbers.
