- On Friday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on McDowell Drive. - On Saturday at 4:23 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire alarm sounding at 208 Watercrest Way that was caused by faulty detectors. - On Saturday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Clintonville Road. - On Sunday at 8:30 a.m., firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Irvine Road. - On Sunday at 2:54 p.m., firefighters responded to an injury accident on Mount Sterling Road.

Dear Editor, Herb Brock's comic relief presented in his May 8 editorial in which he presented his definition of very good as meaning higher taxes, higher unemployment, budgets for the jail, sheriff, EMS and road departments spiraling out of control is quite refreshing. WINCHESTER POLICE Report ? Barbara Banks of 218 Buffalo Trace reported on Friday that someone broke into her residence and stole $400 of jewelry and a $100 radio. CLARK COUNTY FIRE ? Firefighters responded to a request for EMS assist but were canceled en route.

Several children attending The Generations Center Head Start program placed their fingers in their ears when Winchester Fire/EMS paramedic Brian Basford pushed the test button on a smoke detector Tuesday morning. Basford was teaching the children about fire safety including stop, drop and roll if your clothing catches fire.

The Winchester Board of Commissioners presented a resolution honoring Winchester Fire-EMS Battalion Chief Kenneth Williamson on his retirement after 26 years of service. Winchester Fire-EMS Major Eric Hunter takes a photo of the large hauler transporting a generator Wednesday morning to the J.K. Smith Station in Trapp. The planned delivery of the new power-generating unit over Irvine Road was postponed Wednesday due to weather. Officials are hoping to transport the generator today. Sections of Irvine Road will be closed during the moving process because of the size of the generator and the transportation vehicle.
