Karen D. and B. Kevin Maples of Soldotna, AK., announce the birth of a son, Hayden Brice Maples, on Saturday, April 29 at the Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna, AK. He weighed 9 pounds 10 ounces and measured 20 1/2 inches at birth. Maternal grandparents are Louis and Carolyn Dismukes of Hayden, AL. Paternal grandparents are Bob and Rosemary Maples of Stanford. Great grandparents are Hayden and Winnie Phillippe of Stanford and Everett and Hazel Maples of Harrodsburg. He joins a sister, Lydia Grace, age 4, at home.

Kenneth Kretzer, 72, of New Haven Road, Lancaster, died Friday, March 14 at his home. A native of Johnson County, he was born Feb. 16, 1936 to the late Burdette Kretzer and Bertha McKnight Kretzer. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Bryantsville United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Marlene Kretzer and Erin Kretzer; and three brothers, Ollie Kretzer, Burdette Clifton Kretzer, II, and Henry Kretzer. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Kretzer of Lancaster; four sons, Kenneth Morris Kretzer of Ohio, Jeffery Burdette (Melissa)

Gary Lynn, 62, of Hustonville, died Friday, Aug. 31 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A native of Stanford, he was born April 15, 1945 to the late Everett and Marie Cannon Lynn. He was owner of Gary Lynn Construction Company, a 32nd degree Mason, member of Hustonville Baptist Church, Oleika Shrine Temple in Lexington and the Hustonville Volunteer Fire Department, a former Hustonville City Councilman, and a former mayor of Hustonville. William Bass Wesley, 86, of Science Hill, passed away Friday, May 10. Born Jan. 29, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, William was a son of the late Raymond "R.T. " and Gertie Wesley. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Fanny Weber; two sons, Everett and William Wesley; four brothers, Claude Lee Wesley, Avery Thomas Wesley, Milford Ray Wesley and Carlos Ray Wesley; and two sisters, Thelma Rash and Tansy Hamm. Willie Everett “Chick” Sowder, 78, of Crab Orchard, died Friday,¿Oct. 26 at the Stanford Golden Living Center. Born Jan. 31, 1934, in Mt. Vernon, Willie was a son of the late Elizabeth Baker and Ernest Kaye Sowder. He was a construction framer having assisted with building Lincoln County High School, worked at Jackson Chair Company and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church #2.  Survivors include children, Willie Joe (Letha) Sowder, Mary Silverthorn (Mark) Hoskins, Darlene (George)

Casey, 92, of  Lancaster, died Monday, Nov. 26 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky.  Born Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1919, in Madison County, Everett was a son of the late Herbert and Farrie May Prewitt Casey. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of  the D.A.V.  and Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Lancaster.  Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruby Sebastian Casey; a daughter, Marsha  (G.H.) Miller; two grandchildren, Amy Miller and Lee Ann (Stephen)

Henley Kendan Everett, the son of Megan and Scott Everett of Danville, was born Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Fort Logan Hospital at 1:47 a.m. He weighed 5 pounds 12.4 ounces and measured 18 inches at birth. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thompson of Junction City. Paternal grandmother is Sue Wray of Danville. Great grandmother is Eleanor Everett of Lima, Ohio. He joins a brother, Hunter Lee Everett, age 8 and a sister, Hailey Sue Everett, age 8.

Charles Everett Rogers, 83, of Stanford, died Monday, June 9 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Broughtontown, he was born Feb. 24, 1925 to the late George and Bessie Ann Delaney Rogers. He worked as a machine operator for Fiberglass Evercoat, was a member of the Crab Orchard Old Regular Baptist Church, an Army veteran, and the widower of Thelma Petrey Rogers. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Henry Rogers; and three sisters, Alice Hensley, Maude Harness, and Martha Bowen.

Charles Andre Everett II, 25, a native of Clark County, also known as “Scooby,” died Tuesday, May 15, 2012. He resided in Columbia, S.C., with his wife Lindsey Flood-Everett. Charles was born in Detroit, Mich., on Dec. 10, 1986, to Charles and Glyness Everett, and when he was 5 he and his family came to live in Winchester, Ky.  Charles graduated from George Rogers Clark High School and attended Western Kentucky University.  PFC Charles Everett II was active in the U.S. Army and recently served a tour in Kuwait.  In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his son, Andre Malachi Everett; stepson, Elijah Flood; brother, Daniel Everett; sister, Marissa Everett; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Everett A. Woodward, 90, of Bell Court passed away Wednesday, July 20, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. Services were Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Visitation was Friday, July 22, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Everett was a native of Jessamine County born Aug. 11, 1920, to the late Charles Gordon and Carrie Hager Woodward. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served three years, receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars; American Theater Ribbon; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Ribbon; and Victory Medal.
