Effective for the 2007 Tobacco Transition Program (tobacco buyout) the executor or administrator of a deceased producer must bring in a copy of the death certificate and the will, in order to complete forms in our office which will establish the payments as an estate. If the estate is settled, heirs of the deceased producer must bring in proof of the heirs and complete the required forms. Ages and addresses are listed if available. Daniel R. Hacker, 32, Salvisa, driving under the influence of intoxicants, second offense, $250, seven days in jail, 25 hours of community service, and license suspended for 18 months. Ramiro Cervantes Hernandez, 22, 512 N. Third St., DUI and no insurance, $1,100 and 30 days in jail, $900 and jail time probated for two years and license suspended for 120 days.

A legal battle between a local church and Oral Roberts University over some money left in a Danville woman's will has been settled with both sides getting a piece of the pie. Boyle Circuit Judge Darren Peckler signed an order earlier this month giving 55 percent of about $100,000 in Anne Collier Martin's estate to The Presbyterian Church of Danville and 45 percent to the college in Tulsa, Okla., founded by the famous televangelist. Danville attorney Richard Campbell, executor of Martin's estate, asked for a ruling after a discrepancy was discovered in her will.

FARM SERVICE AGENCY REMINDER: The Tobacco Transition Payment Program signup deadline is June 17. Our office has been processing sole ownership applications, which are ready to be signed. If you are a single owner and grower on your farm, the process should take about 10-15 minutes. If you tenant on multiple farms, please call for an appointment at (859) 236-4062, ext. 2. Also, the executor or administrator of a deceased producer can complete forms in our office for the estate on production of the 2002, 2003 and 2004 crop years.
