Clark County residents are gearing up to celebrate the Fourth of July, just a little earlier. The annual Fourth of July celebration at Lykins Park will be on the third this year. "Since the Fourth falls on a Saturday this year, everybody's doing their celebrations on Saturday. ... We were kind of hoping to give everybody an alternative. Go to ours, and you can still go to somebody else's," said Recreation Specialist Jim Snapp. Snapp works for the Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation Department and is a member of the Fourth of July committee.

Fireworks and the Fourth of July go hand-in-hand like baseball and hotdogs. The annual fireworks show and July 4 celebration at Lykins Park has been a summer staple in the community for decades, but that could soon end because of a lack of funding. The event, which was sponsored by the Clark County government for many years but now is sponsored by the Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation Department, is funded mostly by community donations. But this year, those donations are slow coming in, which has caused organizers to have to make some changes to the original plans for the celebration.

It is not necessarily an indication of what the officer found upon arrival at the scene, or of how the complaint may have been dealt with. This is what your police department faces on a daily basis.
