One of Clark County’s oldest charitable fundraisers, the Boonesboro Lions Club Fish Fry, has been bringing people together for a good meal and a good cause for 57 years. The club, which was chartered in 1953 by the Winchester Lions Club, started having fish fries the following year to provide money to purchase eyeglasses for people who needed them, as well as to fund other programs, such as scholarships and support of the Lions Club Eye Bank. Geza Desi, who has been with the club since 1980, said it may, in fact, be the oldest continuous fundraiser.
