Alfalfa Weevil Tip feeding by alfalfa weevil larvae should be very obvious now. A short residual insecticide can be used if there is significant weevil activity and a week or more until harvest. Small parasitoid wasps play an important role in regulating alfalfa weevil populations so insecticides should be used only as necessary to control large weevil populations. Check the product label for rates and harvest intervals and match times with anticipated cutting.

It's almost here: yet another day to remind men we don't listen as well as expose our insensitivity. Daylilies in the Smith’s garden is a mosaic of bright reds, oranges, and yellows mixed in with cool blues, purples, peaches, and even white. Some are even two- toned, especially yellow and orange. However, these are not the standard roadside lilies that can be found throughout the ditches and growing along country roads in the county. They range from simple Stella Lilies to the lesser-known Lucifer Lilies. Not only do they range in color and style, but size as well. There are smaller lilies about the size of a baseball to large mature lilies the size of softballs.
