I was evaluating the compliance to the open records laws at the Jessamine County Clerk's off-ice in Nicholasville, March 9. I asked for the most recent audit of the Jessamine County Clerk's office. A friendly woman told me that she would comply but that she personally didn't deal with the files, so she didn't want to go digging through random files. She said I should wait about 20 minutes until Jessamine County Clerk Eva McDaniel returned. Twenty minutes went by as I waited in the office, so I asked another woman about McDaniel.
