On a typical Sunday, the Rev. Tom Hall delivers his message about the gospel of Jesus to about 300 people at the Franklin Avenue Church of the Living God. On a recent trip to Ethiopia, Hall said he spoke before more people than he ever has before, even if you combined 20 years’ worth of Sunday mornings. For eight days, Hall and seven other members of his congregation evangelized in the far reaches of Ethiopia as part of a crusade by the Joshua Campaign International, all the while growing his own faith.

Dear Editor, We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the Gospel sing at Perryville Elementary on Sunday, Nov. 2. We are thankful to Bro. Doug Davis and members of Perryville Baptist Church for planning and organizing this event to help raise money for the Boyle County Family Resource Center to provide Christmas assistance for children and families in Perryville this Christmas season. We were blessed with the musical talents of the Blackwells, the Lexington Avenue Boys, Master Servants and Saving Grace 3, who gave their time so graciously.

Tammy Norris still is pinching herself, weeks after finding out she would perform at Carnegie Hall. The Salvisa resident and 1981 Lincoln County High School graduate said it is an exciting opportunity for her. It wasn't an easy task to accomplish. "Basically, they hold auditions and it's a very, very difficult process to go through to get an audition with them.

Jason Glenn, pastor of Brookside Baptist Church, said that his goal is to promote Jesus Christ, not his own church. "We are intentionally evangelistic," he said. Brookside's mission statement, the pastor explained, is that the church is a place where people "believe, belong and become. " "We believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ," he said. "We belong to one another, laughing with those who laugh and crying with those who cry. We become all that Christ has for us. " Glenn said that he sees himself as a pastor who gives his congregation the opportunity to minister in the community and in other countries.

She plays a few tracks on "Renewed" to exhibit its different flavors, which include jazz, R&B, pop and gospel sounds. She sings along with a few of them, caught up in the delight that singing and this CD bring. She says she thinks others who hear it will find it "very positive and motivating," especially women, who these days are "worn out and stressed out. " "I hope this (CD)

It was early November and the temperature outside was an unseasonably warm 75 degrees. But if you were to go inside the building at 528 Russell St., you would think you had entered a winter wonderland. The building, the location of Just Dezzertz, is decorated with a huge, decorated Christmas tree, yuletide bows and boughs, and Santa Clauses. The Christmas decor appropriately set the stage for a discussion about a CD that had just been released by a local trio named Saving Grace III. There to talk about a new CD, a collection of Christmas songs, were the trio members themselves, Judy Leathers, Ruby Toombs and Molly Stevens.
