ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS Monday, Nov. 1 Choice of one: Steak nuggets, oven fried chicken. Sides: Whipped potatoes, baked beans, fresh fruit, chilled peaches, roll, pudding with topping. Tuesday, Nov. 2 No School — Election Day Wednesday, Nov. 3 Choice of one: Hamburger on bun, fish fillet on bun. Sides: Trimmings, baked beans, French fries, coleslaw, cinnamon applesauce, Jell-O with topping. Thursday, Nov. 4 Choice of one: Spaghetti with meat sauce, chicken and cheese quesadilla.

Our first frost of the season last week nipped the summer vegetables. Green beans, summer squash and a few other things received the worst of it. The trees are beginning to show their autumn blush, too. We probably won’t have a colorful fall this year, though. With the hot, dry weather, the leaves are already curling up and dropping. It was a fantastic weekend weatherwise. Beautiful, cloudless blue skies and warm temperatures made it a pleasure to be outside. The Farmers Market was bustling with customers purchasing mums, pumpkins and gourds.

Lunch Fish sandwich, chicken nuggets, peanut butter sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, chef’s salad; french fries, baked beans, baby carrots with dip, fruit and milk choices. Middle schools Breakfast Hot cinnamon roll, cereal and toast, yogurt and toast, Pop Tart; juice or fruit, milk. Lunch Chicken tender tortilla wrap, chicken tenders with roll; French fries, lettuce, tomato, cheese, green beans, fruit choices; milk.
