HARRODSBURG - Police are investigating a shooting reported early Wednesday morning in the area of Poplar Heights. According to a press release, residents told police shots had been heard at the subdivision located near U.S 127. Officers responded to the situation and discovered one side of a duplex on Lynn Drive had gunshot damage, the release stated. A police investigation revealed shots had been fired at the building from the rear and the front, and physical evidence is still being processed.

SelfRefind, an outpatient addiction recovery clinic, is moving its headquarters to Danville, a town its employees consider “home.” The clinic, which treats people with opiate addictions, opened in Danville six years ago. The company now has 12 Kentucky locations and two in Ohio. In 2011, after its growth in Danville spread to four separate offices, the company moved to a larger facility, the former Kentucky Christian Academy in Harrodsburg, to “centralize everything into one space,” said Chief Executive Officer Jamie Durham.

Joseph Michael Johnson, 36, of Crab Orchard, passed away Thursday, April 11, at U.K. Hospital in Lexington. Born Dec. 6, 1976, Joseph was the son of Rebecca Hall and the late Michael Dale Johnson. He worked as a factory worker for several years, was self-employed for the last few years, and loved working with junk cars in his spare time. Other survivors include his wife of nine years, Melissa Anne Johnson of Harrodsburg; a son, Joseph Kaleb Johnson of Harrodsburg; one step-son, Blake Gullett of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Gabrielle Brooke Johnson of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Michael Dale (Kim)

HARRODSBURG - In the last four years, three major manufacturing companies have invested an additional $486 million and brought 360 new jobs into Mercer County. These investments have added to the quality of life in Harrodsburg and surrounding areas, and even more opportunities may surface in the near future, said Drew Dennis, executive director of the Harrodsburg-Mercer County Industrial Development Authority. “Going back to 2009, we've enjoyed significant growth in our manufacturing plants,” despite the global economic downturn, Dennis said.

Door broken at business HARRODSBURG - Police were called to the Turpin Masonry on Marimon Avenue on April 3 when it was discovered that someone had broken a glass door and removed property. Willie Turpin reported to police that a non-functional 2000 Yamaha YZ80 dirt bike, blue and white in color and valued at about $1,500, had been removed. The door will cost an estimated $750 to replace. Man leads police on chase SALVISA - A man attempted to flee from police at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, resulting in a pursuit ending in Anderson County.

Nick Serey pitched a complete game Wednesday as Danville won the 12th Region All “A” Classic for the 10th time in 11 years with a 6-3 victory over Somerset at Somerset. Serey outpitched Somerset ace Charlie Dishman to give Danville (12-6) the win in the All “A” regional, which consisted of a single game this season. The Admirals will host a sectional game in about two weeks, and the winner of that game will advance to the statewide All “A” Classic on May 4-5 in Lexington.
