HARRODSBURG - Police are seeking information after someone broke into a barn belonging to Ronnie Claunch of Mooreland Avenue and stole about $1,000 in equipment. It is uncertain exactly when the theft occurred, however police belive it was sometime between Feb. 1 and Feb. 11. The person or persons stole one Husqvarna weed trimmer, valued at $500; two Stihl weed trimmers, valued at $250 each; one Stihl backpack-style weed trimmer, valued at $250; and one Makita mitre saw, valued at $150. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Harrodsburg Police.

HARRODSBURG - A 17-year-old was charged after Harrodsburg Police responded Feb. 4 to a welfare check request on North College Street. Upon entering the apartment, a strong odor of marijuana was detected, according to police. Officers were granted permission to search and discovered 14 ounces of a green, leafy substance; smoking devices; baggies; cigars; scales; and a Colt 4.5 pellet gun. The juvenile admitted the items were his, and was transported to the Harrodsburg Police Department.

HARRODSBURG - City police were contacted Tuesday after a wallet was stolen while a woman was shopping at the Goodwill store in Harrodsburg. The wallet contained several credit cards and about $20 in cash. Since January 2012, there have been five thefts of wallets or purses while customers were shopping. The previous thefts at the same location garnered the thief or thieves more than $600 in cash, cell phones, credit cards and personal identifications and papers, Harrodsburg police said.

Man gives chase to another following altercation HARRODSBURG - Following an altercation Feb. 3 at Walmart, a Harrodsburg man reportedly gave chase by car after a Nicholasville man. Jorge Valdez, 30, of Nicholasville, reported to Harrodsburg police that a physical altercation occurred between himself and Paul Casey, 32, of Harrodsburg, in the Walmart parking lot, after which Valdez drove to the Mercer Sheriff's Department. Casey followed. When the two arrived there, Casey reportedly rear-ended Valdez, causing slight damage to both vehicles.

Man charged with assault A Danville man was arrested after admittedly assaulting his girlfriend early Thursday morning. At 2:38 a.m., Danville police responded to apartment 15 at Off Broadway Apartments on West Main Street. The girlfriend of Fredy Martinez-Montenegro, 29, told police Martinez-Montenegro had shoved and choked her. Martinez-Montenegro admitted to shoving his girlfriend, according to a press release. He was charged with fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center. Man injured in accident HARRODSBURG - Police responded to an injury accident at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Commercial Drive and North College Street.

HARRODSBURG - Country music sensation Jetset Getset will celebrate its new album, “Saturday Night,” on Playback Records, with a performance at Eddie Montgomery's Steakhouse and nightclub Jan. 31. The appearance comes on the heels of the teenage group's standing-room-only album release concert in Cincinnati and a recent performance at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville, Tenn. “We love Eddie Montgomery's music, and we've heard great things about his restaurant and nightclub,” said Kelli Jette, manager of Jetset Getset.
