Bobby Brummitt, 69, died Sunday, April 6. Born, June 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Henry Brummitt and Coral McQueary Phillips. He was a heavy equipment operator, member of the Nazarene Church, and widower of Billie Jean Brummitt. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Brummitt. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Bratton and Coral Brummitt, both of California; five sisters, Betty Sanchez and Ruby Lawson both of Indianapolis, Ind., Carolyn Hale and Johnetta Sizemore both of Stanford, and Dorothy Boyd of Lancaster; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul Rogers, 66, of Kings Mountain, died Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. A native of Lincoln County, he was born June 19, 1941 to the late Roy Lee Rogers and Elsie Kidd Rogers. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 369 (IBEW). Survivors include four sons, Barry Rogers of Bryantsville, Gary and Greg Rogers, both of Danville, and Victor Rogers of Liberty; one daughter, Paula Underwood of Danville; one sister, Darlene Johnson of Kings Mountain; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three step children; several step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Billy Joe Brooks Sr., 27, husband of Amy Brooks died Tuesday, May 27, at his residence. He was the son of Allen Gary Brooks of Ohio and Sally Jo Brooks of Nicholasville. Brooks was a heavy equipment operator and always loved his family and friends. Survivors other than his wife and parents include two sons: Mark Allen Brooks and Billy Joe Brooks Jr., a brother: Allen Gary and wife Ashley Brooks Jr. of Nicholasville, aunt and uncle, Billie and Ken of Nicholasville, cousins, Paul, Janet and Matt and numerous nieces and nephews.

Coy Luttrell, 61, of Hustonville died Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Fort Logan Hospital. A native of Casey County, he was born Jan. 29, 1946 to the late Delmer and Ada Owens Luttrell. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Davis H. Elliott Co. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Yocum Luttrell of Hustonville; a son, Coy Wayne Luttrell of Hustonville; a daughter, Teresa Lee (Kevin) Parsons of Hustonville; a brother, Roy Lee (Barbara) Luttrell of Hustonville; a sister, Eva Mae Walls of Lebanon; and three grandchildren.

Pamela June Roberts and Gregory Allen Kirkpatrick, both of Stanford were united in marriage Friday, July 4 at 7 p.m. The ceremony took place at Willow Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Denton officiating. A small reception followed in the church's basement. The church was decorated in pink, white and black. The bride is the daughter of Norman and June Roberts of Stanford. The bridegroom is the son of Wanda Sue Kirkpatrick and Henry Kirkpatrick both of Stanford. The bride's attendants were her children, Whitney Marcum and Brent Cain of Stanford.

Floyd Gaffney, 80, of Danville Road, Lancaster died Monday, Oct. 24 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A native of Garrard Co., he was born Sept. 18, 1925 to the late Arthur and Nora Ethel Payne Gaffney. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, farmer, WWII Army veteran, and member of the Disabled American Veterans, AARP, and the Hyattesville Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Gibson, Elizabeth Wrenn, and Evangeline Burton; and a brother, Robert Gaffney.

James B. “Jimmy” Battaile Jr., 70, of Winchester, widower of Jan Palmer Battaile, passed away Monday at his home. A native of Winchester, he was born Oct. 7, 1941, to the late James B. Battaile Sr., and Cabell Wood Battaile. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his four sons and daughters-in-law, James Benton (Jimer) Battaile III of Pikeville, John W. Battaile of Clark County, Carl (Whitney) Battaile of Clark County and Kristopher (Amy) Battaile of Winchester; six grandchildren; and a special thanks to his caregiver, Joyce Montgomery, for the support given to Jimmy and his family.

PERRYVILLE — Carl M. Baker, 73, of Danville, died Thursday in Danville. He was the husband of Ruby Morgan Baker. Born July 12, 1937, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Thomas W. and Mae VanArsdale Baker. Carl was former owner and operator of Baker Auto Sales, a retired heavy equipment operator for Edwards and Webb Construction, a former police chief in Perryville and a former volunteer fireman in Perryville. Carl loved fishing with his son Robert, hunting and gardening.
