Darius Miller doesn't like to lose. The Kentucky senior guard remembers the sting from Christian Watford's 3-pointer at the buzzer that sent Indiana to a 73-72 triumph over the Wildcats on Dec. 10 in Bloomington, Ind. He also hasn't forgotten a 71-64 setback to Vanderbilt in the finals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on March 11 in New Orleans. Miller referred to both games as a “tough loss.” “We've got a lot of competitive guys and we don't like to lose,” he said.

For over three months, Kentucky players have seen Christian Watford's game-winning shot that gave Indiana a 73-72 victory over No. 1 UK be shown over and over as part of ESPN's promotion for its college basketball coverage. In recent weeks, several Cats admitted that replay had helped motivate the team during its 24-game win streak that was snapped by Vanderbilt in the Southeastern Conference Tournament final. But now UK finally has a chance to erase that memory when it plays Indiana again in Atlanta on Friday night in the NCAA Tournament South Region semifinals.

LEXINGTON - First it was Tyler Zeller of North Carolina that Kentucky had to contend with in last week's nail-biting 73-72 win. Now the Cats face another Zeller - freshman Cody - when they play at unranked but undefeated Indiana on Saturday. The 6-11 Indiana freshman leads the Hoosiers in scoring at 15.5 points per game and is hitting 67.7 percent (44-for-65) from the field. He also leads the team in rebounding at 7.5 per game, steals (21) and blocked shots (13). His emergence has been one significant reason the Hoosiers have got off to a hot start and have outscored opponents by 24 points per game.

He knows it's hard to compare players, but Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.) coach Brian Satterfield has a good comparison for his star player, guard Gary Harris. It's former Indiana prep standout Eric Gordon, who now plays with the Los Angeles Clippers. “The only thing Eric is better at is that he's more consistent with his shot. Gary can get streaky,” Satterfield said. “Eric can step out to 30 feet (and shoot). Gary cannot do that. But if Eric would just concentrate on basketball, that shooting would get better.

LEXINGTON - If there was one thing Rich Brooks probably did not want to see when he evaluated Indiana, it would have been physical play. The Kentucky coach felt one reason Louisville beat his team 28-0 to open the season was because the Cardinals were far more physical than the Wildcats. "One thing that jumped off the film is how physical Indiana is," said Brooks. "They run the ball well and get the quarterback on the perimeter. They are feeling good about themselves and playing very physical on both sides of the ball.

ATLANTA - Indiana managed to score 90 points against Kentucky and shoot 52 percent from the field Friday and did things to the UK defense other teams have not done. Vanderbilt's 74 points in a nine-point loss to UK were the most points the Cats had allowed. Indiana had 18 field goals in each half and during the season the Wildcats limited five teams to 18 or fewer field goals in a game and held nine more teams to either 19 or 20 field goals. “We lead the nation in field goal percentage defense all year.

Baylor and Xavier play first at 7:15 p.m. in the Georgia Dome. “It was more than just my shot that won the game.
